Fourth of July and More

Wow what a busy weekend. There was so much going on that I will not be able to go into details but I will do so some highlights.

Barrett went to the doctor in Louisville on Wednesday and they referred us to a pediatric hand surgeon the next day. Nick and I are still in awe of Dr.Gupta because he got Barrett to show him his hand and Barrett even let him touch and move his fingers without a problem. Barrett will have to have another surgery but not as intense or painful at the last six. We go back in October to schedule the surgery for January.

We started out the holiday weekend with my family. This year Roddy and Lynn hosted the fourth of July with a cookout at their beautiful new home. They rented a bouncer and bought a small pool for the kids. Let's just say they had a good time. We have a wonderful spread of food and it was great seeing everyone and spending time and catching up with all the family.

The next day was spent with Nick's family. This has become an annual family gathering and it was our first time making the trip. We would hear all the great stories about it so we decided to go check it out. Well the stories checked out and we had a wonderful time visiting, eating, playing in the creek and the pool along with the water guns and bubbles. The bigs boys went off in another field to shoot their guns. They shot for about two hours and it sounded like Ft.Knox in action. We did not get to stay and camp because Barrett was not keen on the idea yet but hopefully next year we will get to do that.
